In praise of...
Yaponskiy Tryufel (red)!
Seed sourced from Andrey from Belarus (along with others), this tomato has some real bite to it. It looks like a gigantic red pear tomato, and you would think by looking that it was perhaps a paste tomato, but no...these fruits pack a punch. Pick some up from your local Russian tomato seed supplier I have to say, this year is the year of the "Russian" tomatoes (better to say ex-Soviet). Zlatovlaska is a wonderful orange-ish tomato; Aurora is now my new favorite early tomato; Orange-1 is another wonderfully fresh flavored orange tomato whose production is much better than KB or KBX (from my experience). |
