I guessed that the "You" was intended in the general sense of
"people outside the CIS and former Soviet Union who obtain seeds from that area." If we say, "We got these seeds from someone in Ukraine," (or wherever) for example, that is the simple truth and is fine for a history. But assuming that the cultivar is "Ukrainian", on the other hand, is unwarranted without more information (like "heirloom not generally available elsewhere that has been grown here in the Ukraine for generations", or "developed at Ukrainian agricultural research institute" or "selected by Ukrainian farmer Rudolv from a row of something else decades ago", and so on). That is the sort of distinction Carolyn or Tania would take seriously that many other people obtaining seeds from that area have not.
