Default Question from a newbie about tomato plant

My question is : I have a tomato plant that appears to only have the starter leaves and no other leafs. It is at least 3 inches tall, if not taller, and it looks real healthy. Am I wasting my time with this plant or will it finally get to going? I have looked right in the middle of the leafs and I think there is possibly some new growth, but not for sure. I call this tomato plant my "rabbit ear plant" because that is what it looks like. I would appreciate any and all imput on this. Thanks
