Default Container Plants browning

My container plants had been pretty healthy until the last couple of weeks. Now the bottom leaves are turning brown and shriveling. I wanted to post some pictures and find out what is the reason. Is it disease? Lack of nutrients? Too much fertilizing? Or do container plants always do this late in the season? Here are some pics:
