Default Lobed Cherokee Purple Surprise

Today I found an irregular fruit on my Cherokee Purple plant. All the other CPs on the same plant have a normal CP shape. This one is lobed rather like a Costoluto Genevese. It's kinda cute I think.

Does anyone have any idea how such an oddity can occur? If I save the seeds from this fruit would those seeds produce a plant of CPs with this interesting shape?
