Mid-West Tomato Fest 2010
This year's Fest attendance was down a bit (25) the tomato varieties about the same as usual (53) and the fun and fellowship was as good as it has ever been. There were several "old hands", and lots of new tomato growers and tasters. For getting together only once a year for a few hours, an observer would guess we were having a family reunion. And I think we were.
As for favorite selections this year, tasters were charged with choosing their top three tomatoes. Twenty-three varieties were named by the twenty-five voters. The winners were: 1st Black From Tula 2nd Black Cherry 3rd (tie) Orange Russian 117 4th of July Cherokee Purple Arkansas Traveller Photos of the event will follow
