Combining Multiple Organic Ferts in Container mix

Greensand breaks down slowly, like granite dust, hard
rock phosphate, etc, more slowly than most organic matter.
It has 2% potassium, for example, but the documentation
on it says not to expect it to correct a potassium deficiency
the same year that you apply it. It is mainly added for a
long-term, slow release source of iron and other trace
minerals. (The green color comes from glauconite,
a potassium iron silicate, so it has a fair amount of silicon,
too.)

If amending a garden bed with it, a single application should
be good for 5 years or more.
