Default Hot pepper wax question

I bought some of this to use in this years garden. I read somewhere it would help get rid of squash bugs. (Last year they killed anything that vined!) Now, what I'm reading is that is for insect that eat leaves or aphids and the like. I used lots of sevin last year and it seemed like vitamins for them. Anyone used this product? What kind of results? I would prefer not to chemicals. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any info, help, or suggestions.
