I smoke my vegetables (PEPPERS) at a temperature of no higher than about 130 less is better.
I don’t want to cook the things more than I just want to dry them a little and let them collect the smoke on the outside of the critter at hand.

IF you can recognize wood after it has been milled, ‘as in a wood shop. (I can)
You can go to a cabinet shop and get their scraps they work great I used to bring home all of the wood I needed for cooking this way.
You have to use real hard wood not fake particle wood of curse, just ask the folks there they should help.
I was lucky enough to bring home all kinds of wood the list is to long.
