Maybe These Aren't Aker's West Virginia But Nice
I planted a few different varieties this year that I've never grown or seen before. I'm always very meticulous about labeling seedlings and always draw a map of my garden when I plant out. I have 2 plants that I labeled Aker's WV and now that they're developing I'm beginning to wonder if the seed supplier I ordered from was wrong. These are beautiful deep and shiny green, 4oz globes on nice tight trusses. Some have turned color already after 65 days.
The only seedlings I could have confused these with would be Eva Purple Ball. I have some of those in my garden this year and although the same shape and size. The EPB are not turning yet and are not nearly as deep green and shiny. Whatever they are, they're early, productive, beautiful and pretty tasty. I'll be saving seed and labeling "4 oz early globes" until I figure it out. To those who have experience, could tis be EPB? Last edited by marc_groleau; July 30, 2013 at 06:24 AM. |
