Building a Canning Kitchen

I bought a whirlpool gold series stove with a 12 inch burner and have a Presto canner and the combo is awesome! I never canned as much at my other house as I do in this rental with a smaller kitchen.
I told the owner that the stove was aweful and I paid for this one myself. I figure it can go with me if I ever move.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know about this problem so I will do some research. We are all electric though and it isn't worth changing over out here since the fees are very high. What can you not do with yours? Is it the weight on the glass which is the problem?
