Recommended varieties

Lists, lists, everywhere! I was trying to tidy up when I found this one written on the back of an envelope. I'm pretty sure it was a list of tomatoes recommended by Craig LeHouillier in his recent radio interview. The thing is, I didn't write down WHY these varieties were recommended, although they all look good to me:

Aker's W. Virginia
Amish Paste
Anna Russian
Cherokee Purple
Dr. Lyle
Druzba
Earl of Edgecombe
Eva Purple Ball
Mule Team
Reisentraube
Sandul Moldovan
Sophie's Choice
Stupice
Stump of the World

Does it ring any bells with anyone?
