Peppers Are Different
(I'm having a difficult time typing right now, so this'll be kind of short)
I planted tomato and pepper seeds at the same time inside our home. Germination time was very close. I set up lights like you do for tomatoes - for both. Peppers grew really fast. I realized they were going to outgrow their solo cups - so I put them on the floor with only one 4' florescent light a foot above them. For a month, they were like that, and they did not grow bigger. They stayed healthy and took way less water than the tomatoes. Thirty hours ago, I moved the peppers to where the tomatoes were with three 4' florescent lights only an inch from them. = instant response. I expect to have to move the lights up in the morning due to growth. Putting them on the floor resulted in a cooler growing environment, and light a foot away did not make them grow leggy. I was fearful of ____ Shock, but they are responding to the increased heat and lighting rather well. ____ Can't think of the word... sorry Anyway, hopefully, this helps you in some way. Robert |
