Default What to do with end of season pea plants

My first planting of peas is just about done producing. I plan on cutting them off at the soil level so the roots can benefit the next crop which I will plant immediately since my garden is small and space is at a premium. What's the best thing to do with the foliage? Dig it in, use it as mulch for mature plants, or just add it to the compost bin?
