quick harvest and 2nd batch
Hello,
These are some that made it to the table. Included in this pic are small Black from Tulas, a lone Cosmonaut Volkov, a few Ponderosa Reds, and Black Prince. I've been contending with unusually humid weather, and some of my blacks have succumbed to fungal attacks. harvest.1st.july.2015.TV..jpg Thanks to the very generous nature of Tomatovillians, I've been able to modify my grow list to pivot away from the blacks and embrace a few others. Fingers crossed. The fungal butcher's bill has included Black Prince, Black from Tula, Cherokee Purple, Cosmonaut Volkov and Green Doctor's Frosted (the last 2 got it from being right next to their dark siblings). To replace them, I've prepared an assortment of varieties that will be monitored more closely with preventative measures in full effect: daconil, pruning, bleach, milk, and worm tea foliar sprays, and copper. Thanks Tomatovillians!! Clockwise from top right Dester, German Johnson PL, NAR, NAR, Stump, Dester replacements 1.TV.jpg Clockwise from top right Shannon, Brads Black Heart, Red Penna, Sweet Ozark Orange, Negrillo de Almoguera, Smurfs. replacements 2.TV..jpg This is my rooftop "greenhouse." everyone.tv.jpg I also have a lot of Hearts that are already in their containers and are well on their way. Thanks Tomatovillians!! |
