Ginny's Heirloom Tomato Haul
Well, I decided to pick a lot of my nice tomatoes as the birds were having a feast, I think they want to fill up before winter set's in.. grrr! So between the birds demolishing my tomatoes, rain pouring down all this week and a heat wave that is giving a few of my maters sunscald, I picked lots of buckets full and put them in my GH. I still have lot's left on the vines, but they are smaller in size. Some varieties are: CDT, Bear Claw, Rebel Yell, Morado Vejer, Greenbush Italian, Brandywine, Dester, Red Barn, German Johnson Potato Leaf, Margaret Curtain, Alice's Egypt, Tree Bottom Yellow, Daniel's, Black Krim, Aunt Ruby's German Green, Kelloggs Breakfast, Kentucky Cabin, Winsall, Marmande Rouge Garnier, Carol Chyko, Old German, Tiffen Mennonite and a number of others.. I think I have picked over 45 gallons so far.. I have canned a few so far, made lot's of fresh sauce and BLT's, and I hope it cools down outside because the kitchen will be heating back up again soon.
