Default Potassium Bicarbonate

Supposedly kills molds/mildews in the garden. I am growing a ton of squash this year and plan to do preventative spraying every 7 days. Does anyone have experience with Potassium Bicarbonate? Does it work? If not what have you found to be successful at eliminating powdery/downey mildew? I prefer organic but If it is live or die I will use what I need to. Thanks for any help/info.
