I use plastic knifes broken in half and write the variety on them when they're in solo cups. That gets transferred to in ground when I transplant. Then I make laminated name tags and tie those to the cages/supports. (Old business cards marked with a sharpie - some of which are several years old and look like I just made them.) Too many times I had a critter steal the one in the ground so everything is double marked now.
