Shotgun Approach (BIG x DamMik)
This is definitely the genetic "shotgun" approach to tomato breeding. The cross is [((Beauty King x Indigo Rose) x GWR Wildthyme)F1 x (Damascus Steel x Mikado White (PL White?))F1]
Here's some F1's from last year - And this year's F2's - L3-15 T2-1, T 2-4, T 2-2, T 2-3. T2-1 BC, weak but pleasant. No save on 2-2, T2-3 taste 6/10, T2-4 Taste 7/10. FY 5-3 red flesh, taste 7.5/10 FY 5-8 FY 5-6, FY 5-7 FY 4-5 L 3-8, L 23-6, L 3-1, L 3-1 L 3-1 taste 6/10, L 3-8 BC, "yellow" taste, 8/10; L 3-11 yell w/tangy, good for sauce. L 23-6 Orange/pink BC w/SUPER beautiful antho, taste 7.5/10, early. FY 4-15, (Lithium x Indigo Rose FY 4-1), FY 4-17, FY 4-9, FY 4-7, FY 4-5 FY 4-15 bicolor, 7/10, good acid/fruity flavor. FY 4-5 and 4-9 were "no saves", FY 4-7 was the taste winner of the group -9/10, bicolor. FY 4-1 - great taste. 8.5/10 FY 4-2 - GREAT flavor, bicolor, I'm definitely going to do a few seg's. FY 4-12, FY 4-6 FY 4-6 -.citrus-y; no save on 4-12 FY 4-8.5, FY 4-8 FY 4-8 was PRODUCTIVE, and bicolor. BC, fruity, could be stronger. 4-8.5 taste 8/10 - I'll grow out a few. FY 4-16, FY 4-13, FY 4-17, FY 4-15, FY 4-11 FY 4-11 taste 7/10. No save on 4-13 or 4-16. 4-17 was big, yellow, productive, and good flavored. |
