We are continuing the yo yo trend in weather this year. Twice normal, then half normal, etc pretty much the whole season. The irony is, when they add it up it'll look like an "average" year.

A major frost here two nights ago, but rebound to above normal highs. And today we broke the high temperature record for this date before I was finished coffee this morning: 65 F and may even have gone over 70 F briefly mid day. The normal high is 10 C or 50 F for this time of year. So a gorgeous day to be out doing garden cleanup amongst all the frost killed vegetation. Just came in to eat now as we had a big downpour of rain, but that's over so I think I'll just grab a raincoat and get back to it.

The most amazing thing is that I couldn't empty the tomato pots - because the soil is so dry it's just clinging to the roots and won't let go. Goes to show although we had some rain the overall dry season is still showing its effects. Big rains have all year skirted us to the west of the Avalon, and a mercy I guess because Matthew's remnants ripped out roads all across the island with so much water while we were spared.
