DIY Trays
Last year. I started onions by seeds in flimsy plastic seed trays without the cells in them. It worked fine - except when I wanted to move them. Even gently cradling the tray, it would cause the potting mix to crack/earthquake.
So this year I made these carrying trays so I can move them to the sun or shade if needed without disturbing the potting mix. Materials: Screws, One 1x12, Two 1x2s, and Two 1x4s. The 1x4s in the pictures are actual one inch by four inch boards. I'm sure the 1x4s bought at Home Depot would be tall enough. Once put together, caulk and paint them. If anyone is interested, I can add detailed instructions on building them. |
