Ok, at about truss 2-3 the taste improved clearly. The 'window of opportunity' is somewhat small though, kinda like a black tomato. It should be a bit soft but not too much, in that time the taste is perfectly balanced and good with a rich smell, afterwards it's still good and leaning on sweet, but the texture gets a bit mushy/mealy. Skins have remained thick and sort of... crunchy. Thick skins seems to be a problem with all green tomatoes I tried so far.
Production looks a bit more promising (nothing out of the ordinary but ok for a smaller fruit), but you need to prepare for massively tall plants. |
