Shamefully I have to say I’ve just discovered this thread, as I live in a rather hot place its name didn’t ring a bell to me. Then I discovered the great research made by KarenO and enjoyed watching her working techniques and results. Let me ask you KarenO, a silly question, I hope you won’t mind : what qualities are required from a true “North tomato” ? does it grow in places with cool summers or in places where summers can be hot but very short with frosts late in spring and early at fall ? Some friends of mine try to grow tomatoes in the mountains (altitude about 4200 ft), they will be glad to benefit from your experience.
