Default Stalk borer in my tomato plants?

I’ve not noticed this much before but this year I’ve seen it in two or three of my 16 or so plants. I’ve not seen the insect, but I’ve seen two or three holes in two or three plants, about two feet up, with leaves wilting above.

Some pictures of my own. I believe I removed a bit of stem where the big hole is.

With the first sighting I cut a plant about an inch below the hole, and I recently dusted with "Jack’s deadbug " (spinosad), and hoping I didn’t take down too many beneficials.

Could this be a plain old horn worm or fruit worm?

There is not a lot of info about this on the internet, especially not on tomatoes. Anybody have any ideas?
