trim asparagus fronds?
The asparagus fronds/ferns have gone crazy and are at least 6 1/2 feet tall and in my way! After a few rain storms they will be all over the place - what do you think about triming about 1 1/2 to 2 feet off the tops? I know the plants gather energy but 6 1/2 feet is pretty darn tall. Thanks as always for any assistance - piegirl

Once my fronds starting listing over because of the wind and heavy rain, I support them using a simple two poles at the start & end of the row and weave some string to keep them upright.

I had the problem too so i replaced my asparagus beds to the down wind side of the garden,Now the fronds bend over into the herbley area that borders around the outside. Problem solved.

I trim them as well and we still get a crop every year.
