Default Is it too late?

Tomatoes have been in the ground a month, but did not get the support system of stakes plus crw in place until just the other day. When I attempted to tie up the plants, most of them (instead of growing up straight) crawled on the ground a bit. I trimmed the lowest growth off and tied up the plants.
The question is, now that they are tied up, will they start to straighten out? Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks!

New growth will be upright and out to the side now that they're staked.
