Gregori's Altai x Jefferson Giant
If anyone wants some seed that was saved last season from a Gregori's Altai tomato that was accidentally crossed with an adjacent Jefferson Giant, let me know and I'll send you some. I've started two plants from the seed, and both are oxheart in shape and plant habit, which is not what GA is supposed to be. I know it's not mislabeled Jefferson Giant seed that I saved, because I didn't save any JG seed last year.
Some people seem interested in crosses, so I thought I'd offer. I suppose you'll have to stabilize it, if you wanted to start saving reliable seed. I'm not sure this cross is better than either parent, so it may not be worth the effort at all. There are three tomatoes on my plant, so I'll let you know how they taste. Jason |
