Default Black Pineapple

What an incredible tasting tomato. This just might be my favorite this year.

If we're talking about Ananas Noir, yes it is a nice tasting tomato, rather ugly in a beautiful way, healthy vine, somewhat productive, but not nearly as good tasting as the Cherokee Purple types, which I happen to believe it may have been "influenced" by. Anyway, it's more complex and better tasting than its supposed Pineapple parent which is mostly just sweet.

No, two different varieties apparently in terms of origin although both are gold/red bicolors beefsteaks.

But I like the description Travis gave to Ananas Noire which was ugly in a beautiful way.

I'll have to think about that.

I wasn't too impressed with Ananas Noire myself .

Thank you. We have Pineapple, and quite like it (as a contrast in looks and taste to some of the other tomatoes) - so I'll have to hunt up some seeds for that variety.

Black Pineapple certainly sounds interesting too.

Its so good. Very sweet but has incredible depth of flavor and complexity. A bit smokey too.

I haven't been very impressed with my Annais Noire crop--big mealy tomatoes with a rather bland taste.
