Where did you come from!
Was out yesterday painting the railing on my balcony and stumbled across this. Check out the first picture and see if you see anything odd. Then go from there. Ami

this happened to me 3 months ago i found it in the gravel area of my RV port. since there is black plastic under the gravel, it only had 1/8 of an inch of soil and 3/8 gravel to support it...lol

Ami, that proves to us that you can grow tomatoes anywhere. Nice looking plant, I think it will produce.

Years ago a friend gave me a watermelon and when it was eaten I threw the rinds toward the lake. The next year I planted a patch of watermelons in the raised beds about 10 feet from the concrete boat ramp. Every single watermelon in the raised beds died. Shortly thereafter, I saw a watermelon plant that sprouted in a crack in the concrete. I was careful with it and it actually produced one small watermelon. My thought was, I can't grow them in a raised bed with good soil, but they grow on their own in concrete. Mother Nature can be a funny ole gal.
Nice pictures Ami, thanks. What size containers are those? DS

Don, those are 10 gal SWC's made in Germany. I don't use them as a SWC as I removed the fill tube and top water. Ami

Here's an updated picture of the volunteer plant that popped up in my patio. It definitely likes it there. Ami

But it can be embarrassing when the volunteers do better than the plants we nurture from seed to the table. In the right environment, a tomato is a weed.
