Default seed started!

My first seeds have been started...can't believe its time to do it all over again! I think this is my favorite part.

Sungold
Stump
Cowlicks
KBX x GZ
Stupice x Green Copia
JBT x sungold
KBX
Reisentraube
Blondkopchen
Eva Purple Ball
Little Lucky
Opalka
Aunt Ginny's Purple

Greens, Blacks, and hearts are definitely under-represented...I will be sure to sow some in the next round.

Do you guys think that Cowlicks, Stump, and Aunt Ginny's are sufficiently different from one another? I want classic flavor but want diversity of course.

I found Cowlick's and Stump to be fairly similar; but I personally liked Stump better. Haven't grown Aunt Ginny's yet.

I haven't tried Cowlick's. If it's similar to Sudduth, then, for me, there is enough difference between "Brandywine", Stump Of The World, and Aunt Ginny's Purple, to have all three.
PL pink beefsteaks rule my garden.

Out of many, many hundreds of varieties trialed, I rate AGP #1, Brandywine #3, and SOTW about #6. To me the overall flavors are somewhat similar. It is the degree of sweetness of the three that is the big difference. Brandywine is the tangiest of the three, AGP the sweetest, SOTW in between. I find AGP and SOTW to be consistant in flavor from year to year, Brandywine being unpredictable.

one of my first OP's to ever grow was AGP and love it for being consistent here in Fl. My Sudduth has done great here two years in a row and handled the 90's here with high humidity better than many of my others and lasted into deep May which surprised me. Earls Faux has been keeping up with Sudduth and is about 6 ft. tall.
