Costco red 18 oz. beer cups here - 4 big holes using DH's old Crsftsman drill (think that was actually my father's drill LOL). I bleach wash & rinse & reuse the ones I keep - good for at least 3 years if not left in the garden as identifiers (UV crispifies them). Love 'em!

I use the plastic four-cell planters, that I get from nurseries when I buy bedding flowers, to repot my tomatoes after they get their true leaves. I wash those out afterwards and leave them in the sun and then store them in my greenhouse for the following year. But I'm thinking that before I plant the tomatoes in the garden I'll put each one in a small paper cup with the bottom removed, and seat them with the top edge an inch or two above ground level, to prevent cutworms and sow bugs from decimating them. I had a real problem with those guys last year.

I use these 3.5" square pots from Novosel:
http://www.novoselenterprises.com/pr...le.asp?ID=8212 These pots cost 22 cents each and are well constructed with holes in the bottom. I can fit 18 in a standard 1020 seedling flat, which allows easy bottom watering. They last for many years and come in a variety of sizes and depths. This company also offers tons of other seed starting supplies. TomNJ |

Yeah, I just ordered some no-hole seedling flats from them. Wish I'd seen that before I ordered an expensive flat from Gardeners Supply! I use flats for my four-cell packs when I transplant seedlings into them; that way I can keep them watered easily.

Thanks for the link after a day of searching locally I put in an order today I just hope they get here before Friday as I am in need of re-potting. I do have a few 3.5 inch flats from last year but they are not individual cells they are connected and also today I noticed a few of my ground cherries in 2.5" cells have flowers so I am in need of transplanting. Next year I am going 10 weeks before frost to sow peppers and ground cherries and 6-7 weeks for tomatoes I have a jungle going here now.
