Default Help identifying seedlings

Hi,

I am new to this forum, and after reading some here I realize I started my seedlings a little too late, but I still want to see if they become good enough to plant later. I usually buy plants but wanted to try seeds this year. Anyhow....

My markings on these two tomato seedlings have been lost. I need help to identify them, one is Bif Beef, the other Sweet Pea Currant. If you can help that would be great.

Thanks.

Hey there.

Welcome...this is an addictive hobby and forum. Furthermore, we've got some SERIOUSLY knowledgable contributors that are more than willing to help out. If there was a Major League of home-grown tomato enthusiasts, this would be it.

You'll be fine time-wise.....we've got a long growing season in so cal....If you have the space, I would suggest also buying a plant or two from a nursery so you're not waiting until july or so to harvest.

As far as your mix-up, the one on the bottom is the currant, top is the big beef.

Matt,
Thank you so much for helping me out, that makes sense with what kind of tomates they will bear. At what point do I transplant these 3" seedlings in to bigger pots? How much of them do I bury in the dirt when I do that? Is it to early to put them outside for a little to harden them?

Thanks.
