Thanks, i didn't get any of this kind last year from seeds i planted, but i did get these smooth skin ones which were so sweet. So I thought these were Armenian.Zana tell me, how to tell when to pick one off, I did pick this one last week,15inch , it had no seeds and was tough not sweet at all.

Actually stupid me, told everyone that both were Armenian, the funny looking one got no sun, and that's what happens with no sun.

In my little experience of growing them, if they're tough they've been picked way to early. They should be juicy, since they're in the melon family.....but there are I'm sure, more experts here about these. Feel free to chime in....I'm not too wide awake so am more than likely not thinking straight or remembering facts correctly.

I'm growing Armenian cukes for the first time this year and haven't produced any fruit yet. If/when they do, at least now I know about not picking them too early. Glad I saw this thread.
By the way, I love my "Armenian" tomatoes. Hoping for an all Armenian salad of cuke and mater. Jen |

I grew a cucumber that looked like an Armenian cucumber but it was just some stray seeds someone gave me about 25 years ago.
It had flowers that smelled nice and the fruit was on the sweet side, (I think) What was it? Worth |

An Armenian Cuke is a cross of a cucumber and a musk melon. They've been part of my life since I was a kid as my Grandpa grew them each year (I'm also half Armenian). It's better to pick them on the smaller side as the larger they get, the more woody and less flavorful they become. BTW, if you want to impress people, the Armenian name is "Gutah" (goo-taw). Enjoy!
