Frogmore Selected
This thread is as much for fun as for education. I'm reading a copy of Vines and How to Grow Them by William C. McCollom. In chapter 19, he recommends some good tomatoes for forcing (grow in a greenhouse). The varieties recommended:
"The best varieties of tomato for forcing are Sutton's Winter Beauty, Comet, Best of All, and Frogmore Selected." Now I've heard of the first three at least once or twice, but I don't recall ever seeing mention of Frogmore Selected. Anyone else? I have no idea where or who "Frogmore" is, but now that I think about it, there is a small community east of Beaufort SC and there is an incredible wiki article about the Frogmore estate. DarJones |
