Last year Gray Mold first attacked my Gary'O Sena (purple-black, potato-leaved) and I had a hard time keeping in contained, although I think the diluted bleach spray helped some.
I just found Gray Mold on one of my tomato plants a couple of days ago, and it is rapidly progressing. I'm going to try diluted bleach spray tonight. This time it's an Anna Russian. (I have terrible luck, it seems, with this variety. Last year, my Anna Russian plant got broken off and by the time it recovered, it was too late in the season and I never got any ripe fruit). |

Katy, usually Gray Mold is very hard to stop completely. If you catch it early enough then the bleach spray is much more effective than if you wait just a day or two longer to start spraying. I usually spray once and then wait a few days and spray again. If it rains then I spray as soon as I can after the rain stops. We have been having spells of repeated rainy days and that has made controlling it very very difficult.

In my garden I have found hearts like Anna Russian to be very susceptible to disease. I stopped growing all hearts as a result. With respect to gray mold, I found Daconil to provide the best answer for stopping the spread. I found gray mold and even mildew can jump to cukes as well.
