Tiny Plant Flowering
This is a volunteer from last year. I didn't have any dwarf varieties in the plot or any cultivars with known dwarf parents yet here it is about 4-5" tall and setting blossoms. Any idea why this would happen? I am curious to see what kind of fruit it produces.

Save those seeds!
Seriously, lots of folks will want them. Small plants are great for small containers for people who have limited planting area. And it will be interesting to see if the progeny are also small plants. |

Count me as one who would love some seeds from this plant (if it stays dwarf)! I'm busy making crosses to many super-dwarf varieties.

Will definitely save seeds. The only plants in that plot last year were Yellow Pear, Brandywine, Red Target, Gimli (see http://worldtomatoes.blogspot.com/2012/04/gimli.html) and Angeles City Native (see http://worldtomatoes.blogspot.com/20...ty-native.html). The only hybrid in the lot as far as I know is Gimli whose parents are Hillbilly and Large Red Cherry.

Scott that is a cutie! Would love to hear what it produces as I had way too many dwarf plants growing indoors last winter lol....
By the way, I thought the bunny on your blog was cute even if it DID have beady eyes lol

I am starting to suspect it is simply a Yellow Pear plant that got stressed and put out blossoms while still very small. Same foliage and a somewhat larger Yellow Pear is growing next to it and already set fruit. Last year Yellow Pear was a very large plant so I can't say it is characteristic of the cultivar.
And yes the baby bunny is very cute and fortunate to live near dogs that are too old to catch anything anymore.
