Especially juicy tomatoes
Hey all,
I primarily began growing tomatoes because my grandma loves to eat fresh tomatoes so much. To her, the perfect tomato is so juicy that it runs down your face when you take a bite. To date, I have not grown such a variety, though she has not tried each variety I'm growing this year yet. In your experience, what are the best "juice runs down your face" tomatoes you have grown? |

I have found both Lescana and Zogola very juicy. Usually Stump of the World and Limbaugh's Legacy are pretty juicy for pink beefsteaks. The juiciest reds for me have been Druzba and Franks Large Red. Of the black tomatoes I think JD's Special C Tex is very juicy as well as Black Krim. It is much harder to find hearts that are juicy but Donskoi and Fish Lake Oxheart are definitely on the juicy side. Under normal conditions tomatoes will be much juicier when fully ripe so wait til they are very ripe before eating them if you want the juice running down your chin.

Cherokee Purple, Neves Azorean Red the list goes on.
Like b54red said many times it is how ripe they are. I have never seen a store bought tomato get that kind of juicy. Worth |
