Fall tomatoes, radishes, lettuce, etc...

Well, after my first set of fall tomatoes was wiped out by the Texas summer heat, I've put out a second set which is doing MUCH better. Unfortunately, the second set is mostly commercial hybrids as opposed to the heirlooms I originally had out. So... without any further adieu:

From left to right: Early Girl x2, John Baer, Celebrity, Early Girl x2.

I'm limited at my home location due to it being an apartment, but I've got space for six boxes. Three are out in tomatoes right now, one with onions and one with romaine lettuce.

French Breakfast radishes. These will be ready in about 2.5 weeks. I can't wait.

How do you prepare your soil mix for radishes? I have been quite unsuccessful with them and am wondering if my soil is not loose enough. Also, how do you water them? Heavy rains here knocks the plants here and they never can grow upwards.

I just used a Miracle Gro garden soil mix for the radishes.

Are those earthboxes? Never saw them in white.

I too, have never had success with container radishes. Here I can only get them to bulb up if they are planted in the ground. I'm planning to plant a bunch of them soon for myself for Fall as well!

I don't know if my radishes will bulb up. I hope that they do. This variety (French Breakfast) is a very small radish and my grandparents have had tremendous success getting them to bulb up in containers. I guess we will see.

And yes, those are EarthBoxes. They come in the brown, red, white and green now.
