This is one of the most interesting history/gardening books I have ever read. Full name of the book is A Rich Spot on Earth: Thomas Jefferson's Revolutionary Garden at Monticello. Full story of a great mind's gardening efforts with a lot of pictures from the restored garden, pictures from his very detailed and scientific garden diary, details about the varieties he grew and even how he smuggled seeds from Europe to grow in his garden. Written by the Director of Gardens and Grounds at Monticello. When I ordered the book a few months ago, it arrived in a few weeks but looks like Amazon can deliver it in a few days now.
