Seedsaving question

I gave someone a green pineapple tomato plant that was planted with a whole bunch of other tomatoes and she saved seed from the tomatoes. She did not ferment the seeds, just rinsed them and then dried them.

Should she plant them next year or start fresh?

If the neighboring plants weren't diseased, lack of fermentation shouldn't be a problem. If the blossoms weren't bagged there is a chance of cross pollination. If they were my seeds and I had the space, I would plant them. If space was limited and I really wanted green Pineapple, I would start fresh.
