Had to BUY tomatoes Today :-(
Used my very last tomato yesterday in an omelet.
Bought some plum tomatoes today, and to add insult to injury, the dumb cashier charged me for "cluster" tomatoes, $2.99#! Since I know how ignorant teens are concerning veggies I did check the receipt. If I hadn't, that 1 1/2# plums would have cost $1.74 extra. Oh the Humanity! |

I still have a couple of pre-frost picked green Aunt Gertie's Gold and Sad Sac's left that have finally turned color, but the flavor and texture leave something to be desired.
Is it my imagination, or do the dense yellow and gold tomatoes seem to hold their flavor better than most reds when picked green for extended storage? |
