I bought a whirlpool gold series stove with a 12 inch burner and have a Presto canner and the combo is awesome! I never canned as much at my other house as I do in this rental with a smaller kitchen.
I told the owner that the stove was aweful and I paid for this one myself. I figure it can go with me if I ever move.

Edit, a quick search for canning on glass flat tops brought up the very site I posted earlier. Here it gives some information on it.

As an aside I did discolor my other stove and put a small crack in the the surface because I think the burner was too small for the pan. Stove was still usable with no problems just mostly cosmetic. That is why I demanded (yes ask my husband) a 12 inch burner if I was going to get a new stove. The canner when pressure canning does not stay on high. I almost reduce it to low towards the end and it is still in the safe canning zone. I also got the biggest oven and it even has convection. A big step up for me. I do not have my advantium oven I had in the other house which I miss very much! Thing is get a canner that is recommended on flat tops like the presto and get a large burner like the 12 inch and you will have no problem. Do like me on the old stove and use a 9 inch burner but expect some discoloration over time. Most stoves now have the 12 inch burner though. The trade off is other burners are smaller. Mine has 5 burners one witht eh 9/12 inch one next to it in front with 9/6 inch and 3 back burners with 6 inch. I do not use those much.

the flat top stoves can't handle the weight very well of a full canner. Also, the canner extends beyond the cooking service, at least on the front burners. My friend had one and she complained all the time and eventually, she cracker her stove top...

Don't own a camera...never take pics. have a cell phone, have no idea how the camera works. I don't have any photos of my kid or us...I just see no point!

I was gonna say, pictures or it didn't happen!

No camera? You need to get one of them. You could teach people a lot of things. And there is point in that!

N EVER owned one and don't want one. I took no pictures of my kid growing up or of anybody else. I take no pictures when we travel. Really...I never saw the point. I know what my kid looked like and I know what I have seen so why bother? Someone bought me a 500.00 digital camera and I made them take it back...We hired a photographer to take pictures of the cattle and horses for sales catalogs as I refused to do it.

When we are traveling, I find people constantly trying to photograph stuff highly annoying as they are always in the way. My Mom had photo albums and I threw them away (she just flipped over in her grave 100 times as I typed that...) I have, apparently, one of the following:

Scopophobia, Scoptophobia or Ophthalmophobia Not really, I just don't want to do it.

Refuse to ever go to faceb ok or twitter or ancestry.com or classmates.com or any of those sites. Honestly, I have never even looked at them and won't ever look at them.

This is the only forum I belong to...

I just fixed my dilemma, I will purchase one of these for use in canning. The Cadco PCR 1S Professional Cast Iron Range has a lot of great reviews regarding canning.

I think this is the one I got. Found it on sale locally. it has the 12 inch burner. I have the 23 quart Presto and it fits perfectly on it.

Looking at the product it says it will handle 12 quarts. most pressure canners are 16/23 quarts. I got the 23 quart so I could water bath quart jars in it as well as pressure can a double stack of pints

Husband liked the black better than the stainless steal and I could care less as long as it had the burner size and oven size I wanted. Made us both happy LOL. The black one is the electric as well. the pick it does not show that as well because it is black.

LOL, yes I would rather have black or white and not stainless but my husband wants the stainless. We will see who wins this battle, he doesn't keep all the appliances clean so perhaps I will win. I can only hope
