I go a bit more extreme than some -- 24" spacing, staked and pruned to two main stems. I'm still new enough at this that I want to try as many varieties each year as possible. Using this spacing I have room for 26.

Given that I have seeds for another 120+ varieties to try, I'm a long way from settling on my "always and forever" varieties. My husband has been told to schedule an intervention if I even talk about joining a seed swap next year...

I'm thinking my 4' row spacing, need to try more varieties

I don't use cages, I use the Florida weave. They get tall! I do not prune.
