Looking for a mosquito lawn spray

Wondering if anyone can help me out. I am in search for a mosquito yard spray that will not kill the tomato plants. The mosquitos are already out in my NJ backyard. They were unbearable last year to the point where I couldn't even tend to the tomato plants. They were horrible!

I know the feeling - lived in Neshanic Station for several years. Here is a link to a product I have used here in California from Bonide:

Looks to be as safe as possible - yet still gets the job done. Note this is a repellant - not an insecticide.

Starting to see the skeeters here too. Seems early.....

A couple of other options for you. I have used both.
The granular seems to work for longer and the liquid is better when you need instant relief!

PS -You can get Raybo's Bonide product in a granular too.

I believe they sell all 3 at Home Depot.

Yes James it does seem way too early for mosquitos. Not even 5 minutes yesterday in the garden and I spotted 2 hovering around me. Thank you for the information.

get some catnip and soak it in 91% rubbing alcohol in the freezer. once the liquid is green rub some anywhere you don't want mosquitoes to bite. i made some homegrown catnip spray the other day i haven't gotten one bite, or even seen one land on me. that wont help your yard of course but it will give you personal protection so you don't have to douse yourself in DEET lol

We have chiggers they showed up about four years ago and haven't left.

I know what you mean, Worth. We had them when I grew up in Michigan. Drove us nuts!

You can make the catnip repellant with vodka too. I just packed fresh leaves into a jar of (cheap)vodka and set it in the cupboard for a few days, then strain it and add more leaves. I'd put some in a spray bottle and dilute with water for use. It doesn't last as long as commercial repellant, but it does work.

i've been having pretty bite free days with catnip lol. you may have to put it on more often but last season i was putting on DEET spray at least six times a day which is twice whats recommended on the package so i started looking for alternatives, i'd always get the worst headaches after coming in from the garden using the DEET. with the catnip i don't worry about using it every time i go out. vodka is illegal here i'd have to drive two towns over to get any

everclear works well too i think
