Need opinions on this CFL

Wanted to see what your opinions are on this light. Its 250 watt cfl and 6400k. Its still really cold here in Kentucky with 10 inches of snow still on the ground. Wanted to get as fast of a start as possible until the weather gets warm enough to go outside.

If you just want lighting for seedlings until you can get them outside, a T8 shop light and a couple of fluorescent tubes for less than $30 from your local Home Depot or Lowe's store will work.

I did some research and found out who made it and everything else about it.

It is made by Feltiz and draws what they say is 2500 Mil amps/2.5 amps.
The lumens are 12,000.
And it is 6500K which is really high.
Light spectrum seems to be blue and is in use by indoor pot growers.
Down side it is an E39 Mogul Edison screw, your standard house socket is E26l Edison screw, you would have to buy an adapter from E26 to E39.
The Numbers mean the millimeters of the socket diameter.
Here is but one of them for sale so you will know what to look for.

I just looked and if it comes from the supplier which is Gotham Hydroponics it comes with the cord with the Mogul socket which they call the hippie hanger.
Seems like every site I went to is about indoor weed growing.

Noticed you said the spectrum is really high. What spectrum should I be looking at? Id like to get some plants with flowers and maybe even some small tomatoes starting before moving them outside.

There are as many opinions on this as there are people doing it.
Some people mix the CFL's to get 5000 to 6500K from one and another to get 2700 to 3000K from another.
One guy says the 5000 is just fine for both.
The higher spectrum is for vegetative growth and the lower is for blooms.

That is one heck of a light how much area are you trying to light up?

The bulb is $18 for 4200 lumens at 4100K. On a $ per lumens basis, it is pretty similar cost-wise.
