Oh and my beds are 10" some 12" deep. I may add another 10" or 12" to them next year as I age, ha!

Rairdog, yes, the bagged top soil is the questionable product I referred to. Another ball game, as you said!

I learned my lesson about topsoil when I had to dig it all out again after it turned rockhard. Unknown to me, it had a lot of clay in it, and my beds turned into 25 foot by 3 foot red bricks. Two years lost, and hundreds of hours of hard work. Be careful with topsoil. My beds are now filled with 100% horse manure and home made compost, and they are great.
