Hey lets not get too aggressive, if anything will scare someone off different tomatoes its green zebra, black cherry, or maybe paul robeson, at least out of the varieties that I have tried those can tend to have some 'unique' flavours at times. Can't go wrong with a good ole cherokee purple.

Although after several weeks sitting on a mowing machine or a hay rake I am really ready to do something different! We use between 40 and 50 ton af hay a year, so it is a decent size undertaking. J.L. |

I am curious about the practical garden difference between Arkansas Traveler and Burgundy Traveler. Burgundy Traveler is supposed to have better disease tolerance and flavor and a darker color, but I have not grown them side by side to compare. Since you are choosing plants for heat tolerance, have you compared Arkansas Traveler with Super Sioux or Costoluto Genovese? Last edited by parah; April 10, 2015 at 02:44 AM. |

That is a good idea! I stole your idea and stuck in the discussion about The Next Big Thing in the Tomato World http://www.tomatoville.com/showthrea...t=35679&page=4 |

Looks like the Ark I grew last year--healthy, productive, but didn't like the taste. Ozark Pink was good, after I gave it a dose of sea salt and potassium, but mild. I am growing it again this year, just to see how another seed does. I like to give them a chance.
