Be careful and be prepared for the worse. Being safe and well prepared is essential before the storms hit. I will be thinking of you all and saying a prayer or two. I would be scared also. I have been through hurricane season only once as a young girl and that was when I lived in Southern Maryland. Now I deal with tornado weather and winter storms.

What a difference a day makes. We are still in the cone, but the weather girl shows it as expected to turn to the east, a few miles offshore as the center of the path. I like that a bit better. I am wathching the advisories very closely. Might be time to get some gallons of water. Already I have batteries and flashlights, canned food, and a gas grill with a burner to heat food.
I'll be glad to not have to bring in 43 earthboxes!

Praying all you Floridians will be safe. Marsha, yes, make sure you go get some water. This whole year has been fickle with weather, better to be safe than sorry. Hoping it goes way out and up the east coast and out.

Stay in touch as much as you can. For all you FL folks in the path, if you have somebody here you trust, please give them your cell number if you have one, that way if the storms do it, they can at least make one phone call to see if your safe if your unable to get online.

Second that.

Make some ice. After Sandy we had no electricity for a week. Cooked in the garage on the small portable gas burner (designed for frying turkey in oil, we never made turkey, but it helped us a lot that week).
