Nicky Crain PL
Ciao all-
My seedlings are just at the true leaf stage and I was checking out the flat this morning to see who's PL and who's RL. And who's up and who's not. You know, the typical germination obsession we go through at this stage of the growing game. I noticed that my Nicky Crains from Carolyn are PL. I'll grow a few more out to see if there are any RL ones in there, but I thought you'd want to know, Carolyn. You might want to keep tabs on who got those seeds in your offer just to see what the results are.

******* Thanks. First time I knew there were some PL's in there and lots of others have grown Nicky Crain from those same seeds without mentioning that. There is no way that I know who got those seeds since I send back to each person the list that they sent me when they requested the seeds from my seed offer. But perhaps they'll see your thread and respond here. Julianna, do you plan to grow out your PL's, even if there was just one? How many plants do you have of Nicky Crain and I guess you're saying that all were PL.? I doubt that the PL ones are just a leaf change, but to assume a natural cross one would also have to assume that both parents were heterozygous for leaf form, which wouldn't be that common either. And there's always the possibility that I goofed in packing up seeds and you have an unknown true PL variety. Only one way to find out. Whatever, the results should be interesting.

Looks RL to me; lots of nice indentations on the leaf margins, especially in that one picture.
You know that sometimes it's really hard when seedlings are very small to tell if they are PL or RL and sometimes I've had to wait until they got several sets of leaves before I could conclude anything. Adenn, was that seedling from seeds I sent you?

Yes Carolyn...I should have mentioned that...got them from your offer a couple of months ago.
