The "Foliage Growth" and "Flowering" labels are added to the rest of the chart (which is very useful, thanks).** Tomato growers are in no way as interested in "flowering" as are pot growers. Tomato flowers are not the cash crop.
An interesting composite chart would be to overlay this one with the radiated spectra of common lamps. ** If you want to promote this urban myth(?), then you need to go to primary sources.

I believe it's the transition of daylight time that triggers the flowering vs. spectrum.
I have tomato plants in a sunny south window and the diminishing daylight per day caused them to flower in November last year. Now that daylight is increasing daily, they are flowering again. On a side note, I was moving the plants out of the window to make room for more and one of the tops snapped off.Like a 1 foot hunk that I put in wet potting soil and hopefully can clone to keep it going. |

It should root and be happy. Good luck with it!
Do you have rooting hormone? The stuff is like magic.

They are plants from 4th of july hybrid saved seeds and the plants seem hardy.
For that size no sign of droop. No hormones,I just keep the soil wet until rooted. I was moving them to get them ready for hardening off. Getting back to lights, did anybody ever try sun lamps on plants to get them prepared for sunlight? |

I usually root cuttings ( various things ) under indirect/defused light.
But then grow light should be fine as it give out very little heat. In July/August I root tomato shoots in the shade. Once rooted give them direct light.
